Fake counters
No one likes to see 0 counters all around while starting a new site.
Fight with this, fight with zeros!
Fake shares
Fake shares functionality allows you to display a certain starting number of shares for every post, so you don't have to start from 0. This can be only set globally.
To define the global setting, please:
- Go to the WordPress Admin › MashShare › Setting panel
- Go to the Settings › General section
- Set the Fake Share Count option to a number to set it globally
- Set the Fake Share Count option to empty to disable it
Fake views
Fake views functionality allows you to display a certain starting number of views for every post, so you don't have to start from 0. This can be set globally or locally for every post.
Use auto-calculation
Automatic views calculation gets into account post publish date. At first views counter won't be equal to value you set as Fake view count base (see below) but will be only 10% of it. The counter will reach the final value after 30 days which makes it look more natural during post lifetime.
To enable auto-calculation, please do as follows:
- Go to the WordPress Admin › Appearance › Customize panel
- Go to the Posts › General section
- Set the Fake views count base option to a number to set it globally
- Set the Fake views count base option to empty to disable it
To set it up for a particular post, please:
- In the Post Editor find the Fake views metabox just below the main post content
- Set Fake views count to empty if you want the global setting to be used
- Set Fake views count to a number to set it up individually for a post
