Update the theme

Automatic update

To be notified and get new updates automatically, you need to use the Envato Market plugin. If you haven't installed it during theme installation, you can do this now via WordPress Admin › Appearance › Install Plugins panel.

Manual update

WordPress method

To update the theme using WordPress dashboard, please follow these steps:

Download the latest version of the Bimber theme from your ThemeForest account
Go to the WP admin panel › Appearance › Themes and deactivate the Bimber theme by selecting another
Remove the Bimber theme
Upload the new version (make sure you upload the bimber.zip file)
Activate the theme
Update plugins, if necessary, via WP admin panel › Appearance › Install Plugins page

FTP method

To update the theme using FTP client, please follow these steps:

Download the latest version of the Bimber theme from your ThemeForest account
Log into your FTP account using your favorite FTP client (e.g. FileZilla)
Go to the SITE_ROOT/wp-content/themes/ directory
Remove only the bimber folder. Don't remove the bimber-child-theme folder
Unzip the downloaded bimber.zip file and upload the bimber folder into the SITE_ROOT/wp-content/themes/ location
Update plugins, if necessary, via WP admin panel › Appearance › Install Plugins page

Plugins update

The theme includes plugins that may require to be updated after theme's update. Please always check available plugin updates in WordPress Admin › Appearance › Install Plugins panel.
